This research represents deep sequential analysis of technical and technological aspects of implementing NFC applications using a cellular phone. The work presents diagrams and consumer models of mobile NFC applications, study of the possibilities of integrating NFC in the existing infrastructure of contactless Smartcards, discussion of concerns regarding data security while introducing new generation cellular services.
This research is dedicated to the detailed study of the global commercial NFC projects (FeliCa Mobile, Japan, A1 Mobilkom, Austria, RMV Germany, Touch & Travel Germany, Maxis Fast Tap Malaysia, O2 Wallet Greta Britain, Payez Mobile France). The following aspects of the abovementioned projects were analyzed: Deployment phases (from pilot to commercial stage); used NFC equipment; architecture of the NFC services; technical, technological and financial-legal schemes for the provision of NFC services; implementation in mobile NFC devices of contactless applications of payment systems (MasterCard PayPass, Visa Contactless). Static data about the functioning of these projects is also presented in this study.
This study is dedicated to the detailed analysis of the state and prospects of the international NFC-equipment market. Particularly analyzed is the state of the production of components for NFC devices, current conditions and prospects of the GSM standard cellular NFC device market, state of the market of special SIM cards for cellular NFC devices with SWP support, as well as the presentation of the descriptions of the alternative to mobile phone form-factors of NFC devices with the indication of the particulars of the NFC functionality.
